Yesterday, Amazon officially introduced an all-new lineup of Alexa tablets that includes three models: Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro, Amazon Alexa Tablet 11, and Amazon Alexa Tablet 8. The lineup combines powerful hardware, the intelligence of Alexa+, and built-in access to all your favourite apps with the Google Play Store.
Amazon Alexa tablet lineup: Features
Each tablet features premium aluminium unibody construction, vivid high-resolution displays, and powerful processors. They seamlessly connect your Amazon experience right out of the box, run Android, and come with access to the full Google Play Store, alongside built-in Amazon apps.
With Amazon Alexa tablets, open a book in the Kindle app and the device transforms into a distraction-free reading sanctuary. Notifications go silent, blue light is reduced, and battery life stretches up to 20 hours. Three display themes let you choose your look- from subtle warmth with natural colour, to a softened paper tone, to pure grayscale.
Alexa+ is built into the core of every tablet. Say “Alexa” or tap the “Ask Alexa” button, and Alexa appears instantly, answering questions, suggesting next steps, controlling your smart home and more, in a new experience customised for tablets. Alexa also provides the same highly personalised experience you would expect- your content, your smart home, your recommendations, your preferences- from the moment you sign in.
With on-screen intelligence, you can ask Alexa to look at what’s on screen for real-time, in-context help. On-screen intelligence can be enabled or disabled from Settings at any time, with a clear visual indicator whenever Alexa can see the screen. Tap the Alexa icon to start a live session and converse naturally back and forth. Every on-screen intelligence feature is off by default and requires a deliberate opt-in.
Every tablet connects all your Amazon experiences right out of the box. A personalised For You feed brings together what you’ve been watching, reading, listening to, and playing, all in one place. A new Dynamic tab on the home screen surfaces what’s useful- content you’re in the middle of, recommendations, and helpful suggestions.
Amazon Alexa Tablet 12 Pro
It measures just 6.5mm thin, is super lightweight, and is engineered for perfect balance. It features a 12-inch display that offers 280 ppi screen density, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The tablet arrives with two display options: a vibrant standard display and a cutting-edge Nanomatte display with anti-glare.
The device is powered by a 4nm 8-core chip with up to 16GB of RAM. It delivers nearly 3x faster processing and 9x faster graphics than any other Amazon tablet, handling everything from multi-window multitasking to graphics-intensive gaming and 4K streaming. It boasts quad Dolby Atmos speakers, WiFi 6E, and 16 hours of video playback. Comes in Graphite colour.
Nanomatte display
The Nanomatte model goes further, with even more processing power and up to 16GB of RAM. This display uses precision-etched anti-glare technology to dramatically reduce screen glare. Amazon has partnered with Corning on a photolithography process that etches a precise, pixel-aligned texture into the glass at the sub-pixel level.
The result is a first-of-its-kind cinematic viewing experience, with incredible contrast retention in bright conditions and text that feels like it’s sitting on top of the glass.
Amazon Alexa Tablet Pro Pen & Tablet Pro Keyboard for Alexa Tablet 12 Pro
The Pro Pen is a USI 2.0 active pen with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt detection, magnet docking, and wireless charging. Mark up a PDF, sketch an idea, or take handwritten notes, then switch to touch or trackpad when the task calls for it.
The Pro Keyboard magnetically attaches to the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro with no Bluetooth pairing required. Open, resize, and work in multiple windows side-by-side. Switch easily between work and personal profiles so you can get things done whenever you need to.
Amazon Alexa Tablet 11
The tablet features an 11-inch display that offers 2.5K screen resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 cinematic aspect ratio. A thin aluminium unibody houses an 8-core processor with 8GB of RAM, dual Dolby Atmos speakers, and up to 15 hours of video playback. Available in Graphite. Amethyst and Matcha colours.
Amazon Alexa Tablet 8
The tablet sports an 8.7-inch display in an all-aluminium design that weighs just 329g. Measuring 7.95mm thin, it’s built to hold in one hand and carry anywhere, and it’s ideal for reading, browsing, and streaming on the go. It is powered by an 8-core processor with WiFi 6 and up to 14 hours of video playback. It is available in Graphite, Rosette and Teal colours.
Apart from these tablets, the company has also introduced all-new Amazon Kids Tablets.
Amazon Kids tablets
Ready-to-go bundles come with a device, a kid-proof case, and a year of Amazon Kids+, with 8.7-inch and 11-inch sizes both available. With distinct versions for pre-K kids (ages 3+) and kids 6+, younger kids get a soft bumper case in designs from franchises like Paw Patrol and Barbie; older kids get a slim hard case with a built-in kickstand.
Kids+ is also adding creative tools like Storybuilder, which lets kids use their voice to create original illustrated stories, and a redesigned Parent dashboard gives parents weekly insights into what their kids are exploring and learning.
Amazon Alexa Tablets: Availability
All three Amazon Alexa tablets, as well as Amazon Kids tablets, are available for purchase and will ship on 14th October, 2026 in the US, Mexico and Canada. They will start shipping in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain on 19th October. The Amazon Kids tablets ship in Japan on 14th October.
Customers can purchase directly from Amazon.com, and the tablets will also be available at select retail partners, including Best Buy and Target.
