Redmi Book 2026 launched in China; Redmi Buds 8 new features teased online

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi introduced its all-new Redmi Book 2026 laptop in the Chinese market yesterday.

Features

The Redmi Book 14 sports a 14” Ultra HD display that offers 2.8K screen resolution, 500 nits ultra-high brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate. The display comes with TUV Rheinland hardware-level low blue light certification and TUV Rheinland flicker-free certification. It provides 27.8 hours of local video playback and 12.5 hours of real-world battery life simulation. This variant weighs 1.49kg.

The Redmi Book 16 sports a 16” Ultra HD display that offers 2.8K screen resolution, 400 nits ultra-high brightness and 120Hz refresh rate. The display comes with TUV Rheinland hardware-level low blue light certification and TUV Rheinland flicker-free certification. It provides 24.8 hours of local video playback and 12.3 hours of real-world battery life simulation. This variant weighs 1.86kg.

Both variants are powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H processor. The dual fan and dual heat pipes deliver up to 60W of performance, featuring a dedicated GPU and an AI-dedicated NPU. The laptop is backed by an 80Wh battery and comes with a 100W GaN portable charger. It comes with a Thunderbolt 4 port, full-featured USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, HDMI 2.1 TDMS and high-speed USB-A port. The laptop is 15.9mm thin.

It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS and boasts features like AI document processing, AI content creation and file transfer within the Apple ecosystem. The laptop arrives with a full-size backlit keyboard, fingerprint power button, HD front camera and 1.3mm key travel.

Apart from this, Redmi has also teased the features of the Redmi Buds 8 earbuds that are scheduled to launch on 21st April in China.

The earbuds come in Twilight Black, Off White and Deep Blue colours. The Cloud Glitter 2.0 effect allows for easy battery status identification.

The Redmi Buds 8 features 50dB wideband noise cancellation with 4kHz wideband coverage. Three mics offer call noise reduction up to 12m/s. It also boasts excellent wind noise reduction, allowing you to enjoy superior sound quality anytime. The effective carbon reduction is more than 20% higher than that of the previous generation.

The 11mm high-performance dynamic driver unit delivers full bass, and a large magnetic circuit design improves sensitivity by approximately 38%. It supports LHDC-V5 and Hi-Res Lossless Wireless audio. Each earbud weighs 5g and, based on human ear modelling and verification, they fit comfortably in both ears and last up to 44 hours.
