Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 officially unveiled; Comes with new AI features including access to NotebookLM

Yesterday, the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 made its official debut. This is said to be the most powerful Chromebook yet that arrives with a host of new AI software features that include access to NotebookLM, Text Capture, Quick Insert Key and more.

It is powered by the all-new MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor. The CPU is paired with Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU and MediaTek NPU 890 with up to 50 TOPS and can effortlessly handle any AI task. It sports a 14-inch WUXA OLED display that offers 100% DCI-P3, 400 nits brightness, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It offers up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB storage. It runs on ChromeOS.

The laptop is equipped with a 60Wh battery and offers up to 17 hours of battery life. It includes four 2W speakers and arrives with Dolby Atmos support. It features 5MP RGB and a dual-mic webcam with a Physical shutter. Connectivity options include- WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2x USB-C ports, a USB-A port, and an Audio combo jack. It arrives with Energy Star, EPEAT Gold, and MIL-STD-810H certifications.

Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14 comes with exclusive software features powered by on-device machine learning and designed to improve your efficiency- Smart grouping, AI image editing in the gallery app, and custom wallpapers of Jupiter.

Google has launched a host of AI-powered features across the entire Chromebook Plus portfolio, many of which are directly integrated into ChromeOS.

• Instant answers with Select to search with Lens– Quickly identify and get information about anything on your screen. Like a pair of shoes on a model? With a simple long press of the launcher (and within the screenshot tool), you can select to search to find similar shoppable options or more information, all without leaving where you are.
• Text Capture– Text capture pulls information right from your images, including receipts and recipes, and transforms it into editable text so you don’t need to retype.
• New Quick Insert Key– You can now easily generate AI images or insert photos and emojis right where you need them to enhance documents and presentations, without interrupting your flow.
• Help me Read– Help me Read now does more than summarize long text—the “simplify” button now takes complex language and makes it more understandable, turning dense text into an easier read.
• New features in Gemini and NotebookLM with Google AI Pro plan– Get 2TB of cloud storage, as well as Gemini in Gmail, Docs, and more with the Google AI Pro plan, included with the purchase of a Chromebook Plus for 12 months.
