Predator Atlas 8 – Officially Announced and Coming Soon to Select Global Markets
The newly-announced Predator Atlas 8 gaming device is powered by up to Intel’s new Arc G3 Extreme processor and it is integrated with up to Intel Arc B390 graphics. The graphics unit supports ray tracing, and Intel XeSS 3 AI-powered upscaling has also been given on it to offer smooth gameplay and high-fidelity visuals in handheld power ranges. Notably, the device is also backed by up to an 80Wh battery, and with Intel Endurance Gaming, it will be able to balance frame rate and power draw for longer gaming sessions.
As indicated above, an 8-inch WUXGA touchscreen display screen is featured on it, supporting 120Hz refresh rate, Variable Refresh Rate or VRR, 500 nits peak brightness, and 16:10 aspect ratio. The display also comes protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with DXC, and it is said to offer scratch protection, as well as reduced glare. Also, 10-point multi-touch support has been added on the device for better touch interaction.
As mentioned above, a Predator AeroBlade cooling system has also been given on the latest handheld gaming device, and it features a dual-fan setup. One among the two fans is a precision metal Predator AeroBlade fan with 89 blades and 0.1mm thickness, and as claimed by Acer, it will be able to deliver up to a 10 percent increase in airflow. A second plastic fan is also part of the cooling setup, while Vortex Flow tuning with angled internal channels will guide air through the chassis more efficiently and let hot air exit faster during heavy gameplay.
Other added specs include DTS:X Ultra audio, dual 2W speakers, dual microphones with Acer PurifiedVoice AI-assisted noise reduction, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, UHS-II microSD card support, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and Windows 11 operating system. Also, Xbox Mode, Xbox Game Pass access, and PredatorSense support are also offered on the device. Speaking more, PredatorSense will allow users to check live system monitoring, activate performance mode, customise RGB lighting, and access gameplay settings, while a dedicated PredatorSense button has also been given for fast in-game adjustments.
About its control features, the Predator Atlas 8 comes with full-size analog sticks and a dual-mode trigger design. Users will be able to change the trigger response based on the gaming type, and the micro-switch mode will offer instant-click response for first-person shooter games. On the other hand, Hall-effect analog control will be useful for racing games, flight simulators, and other games that require more range and pressure variation.
