IPL 2022 viewership declines by 14% according to BARC India

According to the latest reports by BARC India IPL 2022 has shown a decline in viewership by 14%. The report further states IPL TV ratings decline 33% in the opening week of IPL 2022 as compared to last year.

This year IPL has invited two new franchisees Lucknow Super Giants and Gujrat Titans. This year IPL had also seen some controversy from the beginning itself. At the live show, the announcer collapsed on the live bidding. Many of the bidders including Aryan khan son of shah rukh khan rose up from their seats.

During the entire first phase of IPL 2021 (29 matches), Star had disclosed 188 billion minutes of total watch time (14% higher than 2019) and a reach of 367 million viewers.
