Spoken English course will be offered by the Delhi government in 50 locations: CM Arvind Kejriwal
The Delhi government will launch a spoken English course at 50 centers across the city, according to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s announcement on July 23.
Mr. Kejriwal stated during an online press conference that anyone who has completed Class 12 and is between the ages of 18 and 35 can participate in the program. One lakh youngsters will be admitted to the program in the first phase, he added, where training will be offered to them to help them communicate in English more effectively.
“We will begin this course in the Spoken English Program’s first phase at 50 centers with an enrollment of 100,000 participants. Any Class 12 graduate between the ages of 18 and 35 may participate in the program. This course would assist students in developing their personalities and obtaining employment, ” said Mr. Kejriwal.
He continued by saying that although there won’t be any course costs, participants will first need to put down 950 as a security deposit. “This security deposit will be returned once the course has been successfully completed with 100% attendance. There will be possibilities for weekend and evening shifts for working individuals during the course’s three to four-month duration,” added Mr. Kejriwal.
He explained that in order to be admitted, students must have a basic understanding of English and have completed English language instruction through VIII class. He added that the course will be taught by the government’s Delhi Skill Entrepreneurship University and that Cambridge University will evaluate it, so it will be of an international standard.
