According to some media reports, there were rumours that India is going to send troops to help aid the Sri Lankan government. However, all these reports have been denied by the Indian high commission to Sri Lanka.
In a tweet, the Indian High Commission stated “The High Commission would like to categorically deny speculative reports in sections of media and social media about #India sending her troops to Sri Lanka. These reports and such views are also not in keeping with the position of the Government of #India. ”
“The Spokesperson of Ministry of External Affairs of India clearly stated yesterday that #India is fully supportive of Sri Lanka’s democracy, stability and economic recovery.”

India has long ties with the Sri Lankan people. Even in the past when Sri lanks needed help, India came to its rescue. Recently many credit lines were being issued by the Givernment of India to the Sri Lankan people.
