Viral Message criticizing Refined Oils proved Fake
In the wake of misleading messages doing rounds on social media platforms about refined vegetable oils, Scientific Panel on Oils and Fats at Foods Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has said that refined oils are totally safe to use as cooking oil
In addition, Kerala ayurvedic university of Research centre has not given any statements about or against refined oils. Rajeev Dixit has made several statements against the oils but they seem baseless. Refined oil isn’t exactly the healthiest, it causes various diseases but most things written in the message are baseless.
Water especially is used to clean the unrefined oils. Refining includes heating oil between 107 and 188 degrees Fahrenheit and mixing an alkaline substance such as sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate with it. Soap forms from the undesired fatty acids and the alkaline additive, and it is usually removed by centrifuge. The oil is further washed with water to remove traces of soap. The oil does not become acidic as it has been treated.
The oil is bleached with fuller’s earth, activated carbon, or activated clays and not POP (Plaster of Paris).
The oils which are hydrogenated are called with the name of hydrogenated oils. They are definitely dangerous for health because they cause fats to turn into Trans fat. They are banned in two European countries too but they have nothing to do with nickel.
Moreover, Rajesh Shri Goyal has not given any statements about refined oils.
Palm oil refinery is done with help of various chemical and soyabean oil is extracted from soya seeds. They both are different in context of texture, nutrients colour etc.

They can increase your body exposure to heart attack and other chronic diseases.
Considering the statements mentioned above we may conclude that the viral message is fake and the claims made in the message are baseless.
