State Election Commission (SEC) has been operating on developing a new app in Chandigarh
CHANDIGARH:
Amid the Covid Pandemic, the Chandigarh government is operating on developing a new app feature to help the citizen. This application will help users to find the number of voters standing in rows at polling booths and also will allot time slots to ensure Social Distancing. They can also point to objections to the crime of the moral code of conduct via this app.
This app will give a new direction to the development and provide facilities to citizens. Now voters do not worry about the line at polling booths.
“We were instructed to ensure social distancing. Our IT experts are working to make this feature available soon. There are apprehensions that due to Covid, voters might not turn up. We want to provide maximum facility to the voters,” the administrator said.
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) elections will be conducted on December 24. Election Commissioner SK Srivastava declared the date of the elections. The result of it will be announced on 27 December.
Special features :
- The poll timings will be from 7.30 – 5:00 pm
- Arrangements have been created for Covid-19 patients.
- On December 24, Covid-19 patients will be provided one hour of the poll.
- Mask and social distancing is compulsory.
- About 6 lakh 30 thousand voters are going to give their votes.
