Badminton World Championship set to kick off from 22nd August

The BWF World Championship 2022 will be starting from August 21 in Tokyo, Japan. Indian shuttlers in the likes of Saina Nehwal, Viktor Axelsen, Kento Momota and Tai Tzu Ying will compete in the BWF top flight event.

Moreover, recent Commonwealth Games medalist PV Sindhu will not be participating in the event as she suffered a stress fracture at the Commonwealth Games, which now has ruled her out of the tournament.

Therefore, shuttlers like Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth will headline the action for the Indian contingent. Furthermore, the two players were crowned with bronze and silver medals respectively.

Here is the schedule of BWF World Championship 2022:

1st round– August 22, 23

2nd round– August 24

Quarter-final– August 25

Semi-final– August 26

Final – August 27

The BWF World Championship 2022 will begin at 7:30 am IST on August 2022.

Now, here is the list of the Indian players who will be taking part in the prestigious BWF World Championship. A total of 24 shuttlers will be flying to Tokyo.

Ace player Saina Nehwal will be back in action after missing out on the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. With a stellar performance in the Commonwealth Games recently, India will be looking to take advantage of their good form and enhance their history in the tournament.
