Tejasvi Surya Taken Into Police Custody on Way to Karauli for Nyay Yatra

On Wednesday, 13 April, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by party MP Tejasvi Surya was briefly detained by police in Rajasthan after the group protested against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for being barred from visiting the violence-hit Karauli district.

Surya, who was travelling to Karauli with BJP Rajasthan President Satish Poonia and several supporters, was stopped by Rajasthan Police at the Dausa border. Following clashes between the police and BJP protesters at the border, Surya, Poonia, and others were briefly detained by the police and then released.
“We made a vow to go to Karauli or go to jail,” Surya had said earlier in the day.
