Samsung to soon close a deal with Perplexity AI; Reportedly the announcement related to Perplexity integration could come this year

Back in April 2025, Perplexity announced its global partnership with Motorola and as part of the mutual alliance, new Motorola smartphone models are revealed to hit the market pre-installed with Perplexity onboard. Now after Motorola, Perplexity is said to soon crack its biggest mobile deal with the South Korean tech giant Samsung.

According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Samsung Electronics is nearing a wide-ranging deal to invest in Perplexity AI Inc. It is revealed that the two companies are in talks to preload Perplexity’s app and assistant on upcoming Samsung devices and integrate the startup’s search features into the Samsung web browser while the firms have also discussed the integration of Perplexity’s technology into Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant.

Announcement related to Perplexity integrations could come this year in a bid to reduce reliance on Google’s services. It is also said that Samsung is planning to introduce Perplexity AI as a default assistant option in the Galaxy S26 smartphone, which is expected to launch in early 2026. Reportedly, both companies have also discussed developing a new AI-powered operating system and an app that would act as a hub for different AI agents, including Perplexity.

However, since the companies are still under discussion, there might be a few changes in the specific terms and final details before the official announcement. Apart from these integrations, the report also mentions that Samsung is set to invest in Perplexity’s $500 million funding round, and is expected to become one of the biggest investors.
