Jamtara has been famous for not something good but aleggedly doing scams in India. They usually target people by calling them and acting as if they are from a bank. After gaining trust of their victims they tell them they want to verify some details and then send OTP to their phone and empty their bank accounts.

A new type of scam is coming in from Jamtara that is E-SIM Scam

As we all know E-Sim doesnt require a physical sim to be inserted, it can be simply registered by the telecom operator. In this scam the scammer will call you and will simply act as if they are calling you from the telecom operator and will say they want to verify some details like adhaar card. The next step after winning your trust they will send you a text on your phone afterwards will tell you to send that text message to your bank. As soon as you do that, these scammers can now get your E-SIM activated, and after that can simply get you banking OTP on their phone. So beware before sharing any details with a person who you dont trust.
