Volkswagen Tera Spied Being Tested In Argentina; SUV Will Be Manufactured In Brazil

Skoda Auto introduced its Kylaq sub 4m SUV based on the MQB A0 platform in India and it is now reported that similar to this SUV, Volkswagen is also developing a version of their own called Tera. Tera is said to be Volkswagen’s small crossover SUV based on the Polo hatchback.

Volkswagen Tera is now reported to be currently under testing and was recently spied on in Argentina (via @rushlane).

The above spy shot reveals Tera’s side profile. It features a slightly curvaceous design approach when compared to Skoda Kylaq. LED headlights with integrated DRLs, active air channels in the front bumper, and wrap-around LED taillights can also be noticed. The upcoming SUV seems to be shorter in height and slightly longer in length though the test mule was wrapped with camouflage. Volkswagen may opt for a sporty look for this SUV.

Other expected specs include- a large infotainment screen, and a digital cockpit like the VW Polo and Virtus. Tera may pack a 1.03L cylinder TSI Turbo Petrol engine that may be accompanied by either 6-speed MT or 6-speed torque converted gearbox options.

Reportedly Tera will be manufactured in Brazil though since the test mule was seen in Argentina, it is assumed that the company may launch this SUV in other markets as well. Stay tuned with us for further updates.
