The automaker Volkswagen announced yesterday the introduction of an all-new sub-4-metre compact SUV for the Indian market. The new model is expected to strengthen the brand’s position in India’s largest passenger vehicle segment.
Volkswagen sub-4-metre compact SUV arriving in India
This is said to be Volkswagen’s most accessible model offering in the country and is aimed at addressing one of the largest segments of the Indian passenger vehicle market.
The new compact SUV will be engineered to deliver Volkswagen’s core values of German engineering, safety and build quality. The compact SUV will be built on the MQB-A0-IN platform that is developed and tailor-made for the Indian market.

The platform is designed for high localisation, low cost of ownership and efficient production timelines, while enabling advanced safety systems and efficient powertrains suited to Indian emission and safety norms.
The all-new SUV is scheduled to launch in 2027.
