Slate Auto Analog EV Truck – Unveiled as an Anti-Tesla
As pointed out above, in all possible ways, the newly-unveiled analog EV truck from Slate Auto is an anti-Tesla with its affordable price tag, analog nature, and customization options. On top of these, it will be arriving with manual windows, and won’t have a main infotainment screen inside its cabin.
Speaking more about the specs, the base model of the EV truck is going to pack a 52.7kWh battery that will power a single 150kW motor (rear axle), and it will offer a range of 150 miles. A larger battery pack model will also be available for customers, promising 240 miles range. The North American Charging Standard port will also be given on the EV. A five-foot bed, 17″ wheels, 1,400 pound payload capacity, and 1,000 pound towing capacity are further specs. Its overall length is 174.6″, and the wheelbase is 108.9″. Additionally, a 7 cubic feet frunk (front-trunk) storage with a drain hole is also part of it.
Customization is the most important aspect of this EV truck, and absolutely everything is customizable as per what the brand claims. Over 100 different accessories will be introduced for this purpose, along with starter packs for customers who would want a curated list of accessories. Standard safety features however will come as standard and these include the airbags, automatic emergency braking system, and the backup camera. Also to add, the EV will not come painted, but customers can wrap it up, either from Slate Auto or by themselves. It can also be named by the customer itself, and that will be embossed on the EV (otherwise it will be referred to as ‘Blank Slate’). Notably, the option to transform the EV into a SUV with five seater capacity, and also reverse it back to a two seater pickup, is also among the key specs.
About the pricing and availability details, an exact figure hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is expected to be priced below USD 20,000 (with Federal EV Tax Credit). By the end of next year in 2026, its availability is said to be ensured and interested customers can now book it for just $50 (refundable) on the company’s official website.
