Skoda Auto unveils Slavia Facelift and Superb Diesel models in India

Skoda Auto has officially unveiled its Skoda Slavia facelift model in the Indian market, and this model will be made available for purchase during the festive season. The company has also revealed the Skoda Superb Diesel, which is scheduled to launch next year in the country.

Here are the details

Skoda Slavia Facelift

On the exterior side, the Slavia facelift gets new LED DRL signatures and a bumper grille. The overall silhouette of the midsize sedan has been carried over. The headlights, taillights, front grille, air dam and alloy wheels have been refreshed. There are sequential turn indicators at the rear, while a new trim between the taillights with the SKODA branding is also added.

Coming to the interior side, it gets a segment-first-rear-seat massaging function. There is a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch driver’s display with new graphics and features. A 360-degree camera is also present. Electric adjustments and ventilation functions for the front seats are also added.

It arrives with 115hp 1.0 TSI and 150hp TSI turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0 TSI gets a 6-speed manual, while the 1.5 TSI continues with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The 1.0 TSI automatic is now an 8-speed torque-converter unit.

Availability

Pre-bookings have already started, and the prices are said to be announced in October. Deliveries for this model are expected to begin in the festive season.

It comes with Classic, Classic Plus, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo variants. There are ten colour options: Arctic Silver, Cappuccino Beige, Shimla Green, Steel Grey, Brilliant Silver, Candy White, Carbon Steel, Cherry Red, Deep Black and Lava Blue.

Skoda Superb Diesel

The Superb Diesel (3rd gen) was previously available for sale in India but was later discontinued, and now the company has unveiled the 4th Gen Superb Diesel for the Indian market.

The Superb will be imported into India via the CBU (completely built-up) route and will be offered in a single top-spec Laurin and Klement trim.

If we talk about the powertrain, the Superb Diesel for India will be FWD only. 2.0L turbo diesel makes around 147bhp of peak power and 360 Nm of torque, paired with a sole 7-speed DSG transmission.

It measures 4,912mm in length, 1,849mm in width and 1,511mm in height. It comes with a 2,841 mm wheelbase and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the exterior, it features the LED Matrix headlight setup along with a new butterfly grille design. The rear has contemporary LED taillights with a C-shaped insignia. The bumper has honeycomb mesh air inlets and a horizontal chrome bar in the centre. The window surrounds have a chrome finish, and the front fenders have the “Laurin & Klement’ badge.

The interior cabin comes with a dual-tone black-and-Cognac theme and a simple dashboard with a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display and a 3-spoke steering wheel with ‘Skoda’ wordmark. It gets rotary dials with digital screens on the centre console to operate climate and audio controls. The seats have leatherette upholstery.

There is a 14-speaker Canton sound system, triple-zone climate control, a 25W wireless phone charger, rear sunblinds and a powered tailgate with gesture support. The front seats are powered and offer features such as memory, heating, ventilation and massage. A sleep package comes as standard.

Safety features include: 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS, an electronic parking brake, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and automatic parking assistance.

Availability

The Superb Diesel is expected to launch in the first half of 2027.
