Last week, the Government of India announced next-gen GST reforms, which turned out to be the Diwali gift for the nation, as from 22nd September, there will be only two tax slabs, 5% and 12% and the taxes on various commodities and services have also been reduced. A new 40% slab was also introduced for luxury items.
After the above announcement, it was believed that TVs, motor vehicles, and other basic necessity items would now become cheaper with the reduced tax. Yesterday, Kia India announced that it will pass the full benefit of the recent GST reduction to customers across its entire internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio.

- Syros- Price reduction up to INR 1,86,003
- Seltos- Price reduction up to INR 75,372
- Carens- Price reduction up to INR 48,513
- Carens Clavis- Price reduction up to INR 78,674
- Carnival- Price reduction up to INR 4,48,542
This price reduction will come into effect from 22nd September 2025, when the revised GST rates come into force. This move is expected to ease the financial burden on customers and also fuel demand during the festive season.
