The automaker Ducati has officially introduced its new Ducati Monster with the V2 twin engine in the Indian market.

Features
The new motorcycle comes in Monster and Monster+ versions. Both variants are powered by the all-new 890cc V2 engine. Except for the new engine, the company has also introduced an upgraded design for the vehicle.
The new Monster retains the agility and riding ease of the previous model but is now 4kg lighter and flaunts a sportier, more extended position. The overall dry weight is just 175kg. The V2 engine delivers 111hp and 91Nm of torque, and comes with an Intake Variable Timing System that continuously modifies the intake valve opening advance. It also features the new Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, already adopted on recent models, as well as four riding modes and four power modes that regulate throttle response and power delivery.
The Monster is also available as a 35 kW limited power version. The vehicle features a new full LED headlight with DRL and dynamic turn signals. It boasts a wide steering angle, a seat height of 815mm, a reduced straddle arch, iconic and muscular tank. The Ducati Performance accessories catalogue also includes a lower seat and a suspension lowering kit, which reduce the seat height to 775mm if used together.
The fuel tank has been redesigned, body panels have been subtly revised, while the company has also moved the handlebars slightly forward. It rides on lightweight alloy wheels shod with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres.
The new 5” TFT display shows information in Day and Night mode depending on the natural light conditions, and in two info modes, Road and Road Pro. The new Monster has an updated setting complete with Showa suspension with adjustable rear preload. The Brembo braking system uses pads with dedicated friction material that improves modulability and ensures smoother manoeuvres. At the front, two 320mm discs with Brembo radial callipers and a radial master cylinder, and at the rear, a 245mm disc with dual-position calliper. There is also a joystick-mounted control system for navigating through the various menus and settings.
Valve clearance check intervals are now necessary only at 45,000km. The standard warranty is two years with unlimited mileage. Standard rider modes consist of ride and power modes, traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control and cornering ABS.
Availability
The Monster in Ducati Red starts at Rs 13.99 lakh, with the Iceberg white and Sport Livery colours priced at Rs 14.23 lakh. The Monster+ variant that comes with an addition of a headlight cowl and a passenger seat cover starts at Rs 14.34 lakh for Ducati Red and Rs 14.45 lakh for Iceberg White and Sport Livery. All prices are ex-showroom.
