China creates history by launching world’s first commercial 10G broadband network; Delivers 9,834Mbps download speed

China has achieved a technological breakthrough recently by launching the world’s first commercial 10G broadband network in Sunan County, Hebei Province. Huawei, in collaboration with China Unicom, has launched this broadband network and aims to deliver dramatically faster internet access.

According to published data, the download speed on the network is up to 9,834 Mbps, and the upload speed is up to 1,008 Mbps, while the latency is as low as 3 milliseconds. This all-new network is powered by 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) technology.
This network is said to complete high bandwidth tasks in just a few seconds or minutes. For example, earlier, to download a full-length 20GB 4k movie in a 1 Gbps connection, it used to take about 7-10 minutes, but with this latest network, the same movie can be downloaded in under 20 seconds. 10G broadband network not only enables superfast internet but is also expected to make changes in fields like health, education, entertainment, VR, AR, and more.
Previously, countries like the UAE and Qatar were known for faster broadband speeds, but now with this latest launch, China has surpassed these countries, reshaping internet infrastructure and setting a new global standard. While many countries are still scaling their 5G infrastructure, China is already out there setting benchmarks with a 10G broadband network.
