Xiaomi’s 18 Ultra – Reportedly Cancelled Over Pricing Concerns, Planned Specifications Revealed
Tipster Digital Chat Station has shared details about the reportedly cancelled flagship Xiaomi 18 Ultra through a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. According to him, the device was said to feature a flat display with uniform bezels measuring around 1mm on all four sides. Additionally, an unspecified flagship chipset and a benchmark score of more than 5 million points have also been mentioned.

Speaking more about its planned camera setup, specifications which include a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.12″ sensor and LOFIC technology, a 200MP ultra-wide camera with a 1/1.56″ sensor, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera supporting LOFIC technology and continuous optical zoom with a 1/1.28″ sensor were pointed out for the device. Alongside these, a multispectral sensor and a magnetic external lens accessory have been mentioned as well.
About the other revealed details, a 0916 vibration motor and symmetrical dual speakers were reportedly planned for the smartphone.
Also to note, as per the tipster, a 12GB/256GB memory variant was also being considered, and this version would have carried a proposed price tag of CNY 9,999, which the company considered too high and believed that sales at this price would not be sustainable, reportedly leading to the decision to cancel the device.
Notably, if this report turns out to be accurate, the standard Xiaomi 18 may make its debut alone in the Chinese market without the Ultra variant, though this still needs to be confirmed by the brand. On the other hand, tipster Abhishek Yadav has suggested that an Ultra model could return with the Xiaomi 19 series. Whether this will happen, and whether memory prices will stabilise by then, remains to be seen.
