No Galaxy S26 Pro? Samsung Reported to Bring its Usual Standard, Plus, and Ultra Models Under its Galaxy S26 Series; Exynos 2600 Performance Details Also Leaked

We have already come across multiple updates concerning the Galaxy S26 series from Samsung and certain previous reports had suggested that the South Korean tech maker was planning to drop both the standard and plus models, and instead was believed to debut its next flagship series with a pro, edge, and ultra models. Newer updates had arrived in the recent past days claiming that the brand is planning to abandon its Galaxy S26 Edge project and revive the Galaxy S26 Plus project due to the low sale of the previous Galaxy S25 Edge. Now, it has been reported that there won’t be a Galaxy S26 Pro as well and just like the earlier Galaxy S-series, the brand will continue with the standard, plus, and ultra models for its Galaxy S26 series too. Additionally, the performance details of the brand’s own Exynos 2600 chipset have also been leaked.
Here’s more about the latest updates.
No ‘Pro’ Moniker for Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Series Base Model?
As per the report shared by SamMobile, from what the rumors have been revealing over the past few months, a different story is now being told about the Galaxy S26 series. Just like the Galaxy S26 Edge, there won’t be a Galaxy S26 Pro model, and the base model of Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series will be called the ‘Galaxy S26’ itself. This further confirms that just like what we saw in the previous years, we can expect to see the Galaxy S26 series break its cover early next year in 2026 with the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra models.
Speaking more, while the base model of the Galaxy S26 series is said to be packed with features, it won’t be having any notable upgrades that justifies a ‘pro’ tag for it. The same camera specs as that of the previous Galaxy S25 is revealed for the upcoming Galaxy S26 model too, and it is expected to be powered by the Exynos 2600 chip in many regions. The 4300 mAh larger battery is the main upgrade that is going to arrive in the next standard Galaxy S26 smartphone.
Regarding the Exynos 2600 chipset, new reports from the Korean media states that this latest chip will be offering over 6x stronger NPU performance than the Apple A19 Pro chip, 14% higher multi-core CPU performance, and 75% higher GPU performance. In comparison to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, around 30% higher NPU performance and up to 29% higher GPU performance are also claimed on Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chip.
