And then the only solution left is to search for that topic again. Well, users can now simply move through this whole browser mess by trying a new simple @ shortcut in the address bar.

How to search through your browser history in the Chrome address bar?

  • Open Chrome on your device
  • Type @history in the address bar
  • Press Tab or Space
  • Enter Keywords
  • Refine as much as needed
  • Select the tab from the list

This feature will surely help users in simplifying tasks by getting to that article tab you know you left open somewhere without needing to conduct another web search.

Other than @history, there are two other site search shortcuts directly built into the Chrome address bar- @tabs and @bookmarks. @tabs shortcut can be used when you have an explosion of tabs, while @bookmarks shortcut helps you find the bookmark you are looking for among all your folders of bookmarks, right from the address bar.
