Top 5 tech startups around the world that made it big

This is the Tech Age, so clearly, it is fair that tech firms are doing incredibly well! And this list is dominated by the GAFAM companies, which by market size are the top 5 biggest publicly trading entities in the world.

Google, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, and Amazon. All these corporations purchased $801.5 billion in total revenue in 2019, which is a lot of zeroes! And it’s much more fascinating than they are both located in the United States of America.

  1. Google – In the tech community, Google is the most popular business name and many non-tech people have heard this name. Oh, and why not? There’s Google everywhere! You probably use Gmail to mail, write with Google Docs, use Google Maps when you’re lost, and watch funny videos on YouTube, in addition to Google Search. And these are just a few of the utilities that Google offers. Even more, are there! In September 1998, in California, Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google. In March 1999, the company moved its headquarters to Palo Alto, California, which is home to several other startups in Silicon Valley as well. On August 19, 2004, Google made an initial public offering where it sold 19, 605, 052 shares at $85 per share. Those that purchased those shares are likely to have luck in the future!!!
  2. Apple – In this country, there are very few people who have never heard of an iPhone. This phone is so famous that in many countries it has become a status mark and that’s thanks to the quality of Apple products. Apple is famous for its outstanding electronics, and not just the iPhone, but also the iPad, Mac personal computer, Apple Watch smartwatch, AirPods, etc. are masterful creations. You get the idea, Apple is the best guy in anything it does! Apple is also an all-rounder, making not just its electronics, but also its applications. The operating systems for Mac computers and iPhones, macOS and iOS, are also widely common for their features and design. Also, web resources including the iTunes Store, Apple Music, Apple TV+, iOS App Store, iCloud, etc. are now offered by Apple.
  3. Facebook – Even halfway across the world, is the easiest way to see what your social network is doing? Of course, it’s Facebook! Facebook is the first and most popular website for social networking in the world. It has made this planet a smaller place under its own hands and has contributed to the rise of many new social networking sites such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. But Facebook’s market is not just about the forum for social networking. Other services have also been offered by Facebook, such as Facebook Messenger, Facebook Watch, etc. And if you like sharing photos on Instagram or sending messages via WhatsApp, these businesses have now been acquired by Facebook!
  4. Amazon – Amazon is the world’s leading e-commerce firm and this gives it a spot in the grouping of the “Big Four.” E-commerce, though, is not something that Amazon deals in. With Amazon Web Services and the Amazon Prime online content provider market, they have also built a presence in cloud storage and artificial intelligence. Amazon was started in July 1994 by Jeff Bezos. Initially, it was supposed to be an online retailer, but it turned out to be so much more! In the first 2 months, Amazon originally distributed books in 50 states of America and over 45 nations. They gradually went on in 1998 to the marketing of music and videos and then in 1999 to consumer electronics, software, computer games, domestic goods, toys, games, etc.
  5. Microsoft – Microsoft Office is your best mate if you need to create files, spreadsheets, or PowerPoint presentations! On April 4, 1975, Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen, with Bill Gates as the CEO. Did you know that Microsoft, which is what they initially dealt with, is short for micro-computer software? As a graphical extension for MS-DOS, Microsoft started up with Microsoft Windows in 1985, and when they launched Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, they developed the Microsoft Office suite in 1990.
