Falcon 9 delivers 29 Starlink satellites to orbit from Florida

Last month Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX landed and completed the 27th launch and landing of an orbital-class rocket. And now yesterday on Star Wars Day, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket took flight again, delivering 29 Starlink satellites to low Earth orbit.

The launch took place at 4:54 a.m. EDT (0854 MT) from Complex S9A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The rocket flew in a south-easterly trajectory once it left the pad. According to the company’s mission description, this was the 20th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Crew-6, SES 03b mPOWER-B, USSF-124, Bluebird 1-5, and now 16 Starlink missions.

It is revealed that about 8.5 minutes later, the rocket’s first stage came back to Earth, acing its touchdown on the SpaceX drone ship ‘A Shortfall of Gravitas’. Below is a time-lapse photo that showcases SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying 29 Starlink satellites lifting off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
As of now, SpaceX has launched nearly 8,500 Starlink satellites to date, more than 7,300 of which remain operational in LEO.
