Blue Origin completes a successful hotfire of its fully integrated New Glenn launch vehicle at LC-36

Blue Origin, the space company founded by Jeff Bezos, has achieved a new milestone. The company officially announced that they have completed a successful hotfire test of its giant New Glenn rocket at Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

It is revealed that all seven engines performed nominally with a 38-second duration test, including all seven engines operating at 100% thrust for 22 seconds. This test is done ahead of the upcoming launch for NASA’s ESCAPADE Mars mission, showcasing its heavy-lift launch capabilities.
Back in December 2024, Blue Origin completed a hotfire test before launching its first New Glenn rocket with a pathfinder for its Blue Ring spacecraft in January 2025. It is now said that the company will analyse test data of this static test fire for anomalies before confirming readiness for the upcoming mission. If everything is clear, the rocket, on only its second-ever flight, could launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida on November 9.
The upcoming liftoff will carry NASA’s dual ESCAPADE spacecraft to Mars, the agency’s first multi-spacecraft orbital science mission to study the Martian atmosphere and solar effects.
