Anonymous praises Nokia for pulling out of Russian market.

Nokia’s CEO told that the company is exiting the Russian market, going further than rival Ericsson, which announced on Monday that it was suspending operations in the country indefinitely.

Hundreds of foreign companies have severed ties with Russia in the aftermath of its February 24 invasion of Ukraine and Western sanctions against Moscow.

While several industries, including telecommunications, have been exempted from some sanctions on humanitarian or other grounds, Nokia stated that leaving Russia was the only option.

Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark: “We just simply do not see any possibility to continue in the country under the current circumstances”. Decision to leave Russia will affect about 2,000 workers, and some of them might be offered work elsewhere.
