Cloudfare Inc. today announced the development of the Cloudflare Zero Trust SIM

The company Cloudflare, Inc., which works to improve the Internet’s security, performance, and reliability, today announced the development of the Cloudflare Zero Trust SIM, the first solution to encrypt every data packet that leaves mobile devices.

Businesses will be able to quickly and securely connect employee devices to Cloudflare’s global network, directly integrate devices with Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform, and protect their network and employees no matter where they are working from with the help of the Zero Trust SIM that Cloudflare is developing.

Additionally, Cloudflare will launch Zero Trust for Mobile Operators, a fresh wireless carrier partner program that enables any carrier to quickly offer their subscribers a full range of mobile security capabilities by employing Cloudflare’s Zero Trust platform.

As businesses have become increasingly decentralized with remote working and employees bringing their own devices (BYOD), it is more challenging than ever to ensure that every device used by employees is secure. To solve this problem, the majority of organizations use a secure agent, or application, that runs on an employee’s device and helps secure it.

Despite being essential parts of the security stack, applications and endpoint agents can be challenging to scale and may not be able to protect all traffic across all devices. To help narrow this gap, Cloudflare is creating the first zero trust solution in the market to secure mobile employee devices at the SIM level, protecting every packet of data.

Cloudflare Zero Trust SIM will easily link with Cloudflare’s full Zero Trust stack to enforce security standards for all traffic exiting the device. Furthermore, the Zero Trust SIM uses an eSIM (embedded SIM) first approach, allowing SIMs to be rapidly supplied to iOS and Android devices and locked to a specific device, lowering the risk of SIM-swapping risks seen by traditional solutions and saving time for security teams.

Cloudflare has also today introduced the Zero Trust for Mobile Operators program to help organizations secure mobile devices. The goal of the wireless carrier partner program is to jointly tackle the most challenging performance and security problems related to mobile connections. By merging award-winning security tools from Cloudflare with the largest mobile networks on the planet, businesses can relax knowing their devices and data are secure without worrying about speed.
