Samsung’s recent UFS roadmap reveals that UFS 5.0 will be released in 2027

The widely famous South Korean manufacturer, Samsung is known for introducing highly advanced gadgets and innovative technologies in the industry. A recent update has revealed that the company might be planning to work on the next phase of internal storage- UFS 5.0.

Today tipster @Tech_Reve on the X platform has shared Samsung’s UFS roadmap that reveals a few details about the company’s planning on starting the improvement for UFS interface speed and also the UFS 5.0 release timeline.

The above image also mentions that Samsung is developing a new product that uses UFS 4.0 technology but increases the number of channels from the current 2 to 4. It is also revealed that the tech giant is actively participating in discussions on the UFS 5.0 standard. Well, not much has been revealed regarding the UFS 5.0 but the roadmap shared by the company showcases that UFS 5.0 will be released in 2027.

UFS 5.0 is also revealed to reach the maximum speed of 10GB/s. Apart from this the roadmap also reveals that Samsung will also introduce a faster version of UFS 4.0 next year that reaches the speed of 8GB/s.

Since there is still time for the official release of UFS 5.0, no details regarding this storage are yet known but in the future, we might come across some updates related to UFS 5.0 storage.
