Google Starts the March 2024 Software Update Roll-Out Today for its Pixel Devices

The California-based tech giant, Alphabet Inc.’s Google, has announced the March 2024 software update roll-out for Pixel devices. Along with some of the new Pixel features, the update will also bring certain improvements and bug fixes to the devices.

Google’s March 2024 Software Update Now Rolling-Out

This update will be rolled out to all the eligible Pixel-branded devices that are running on the latest Android 14 operating system. The roll-out will be taking place over the next week in phases and users will be receiving it depending on the model and carriers. Once the update is made available, they will also be notified of it. Do note that the software for US carriers will only be available from next week onwards.

About the changelogs, firstly the update will bring some general improvements to system stability and performance. Improvements for the performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations are also part of the update. Fixes for the issues such as game dashboard not working, home screen icons becoming invisible, wallpaper getting stuck or going dark, animation transition problem, incorrect app icons, wrong internet connection status, layout and animation problem, and notification color theme problem are all there in the update. Additional improvements for face unlock stability are also present.

On the app side, again there are general improvements for stability and performance with system apps. The update will also be fixing the issues in launching Google Play store app and also in using multi-finger gestures. The assistant not responding to verbal commands will also be fixed. The issue in playing video on Google TV as well as the camera issue that causes it to malfunction will both be fixed too.

Speaking more, brightness changes in photo and video, and display turning green will receive fixes. General improvements will also be made to the display stability and performance. Other notable fixes and improvements are for the issues that causes vibrations to stop working and also in fingerprint recognition and response.

Regarding the connectivity fixes and improvements, fix for the issue in routing calls to the connected Bluetooth devices, fix for Wi-Fi icon being displayed while in a call even after disabling it, fix for the issue that causes difficulties in making or receiving calls, fix for mobile data not switching, fix for voice distortion during calls, improvements for Wi-Fi connection stability and performance, fix for audio quality issue on connected Bluetooth devices, and also the fix for Bluetooth to stop functioning will all be brought with the March 2024 software update.
