Power of a tweet helped a student reach his destination on time with the help of Indian railways

A train in India was ordered to speed up so that the student could reach her test centre in time.

The student, Nazia Tabassum, a resident of Ghazipur City in Uttar Pradesh, was scheduled to attend a Diploma in Elementary Education (Del Ed) (fourth semester) examination at the girls’ inter-college in Varanasi City on Wednesday noon.

As reported, the girl had reserved her seat in Chapra-Varanasi City Intercity Express to enter the Varanasi Examination Centre. The test was set to commence at 12 noon.

However, as the train from the Chapra junction in Bihar reached Mau town in Uttar Pradesh to pick up the girl who had to board the train along with her brother, it was two and a half hours late. The train reached Mau station at 9:18 a.m. instead of 6:25 a.m., which was the initial time of arrival when the examiner was expected to reach Varanasi station no later than 11 a.m. in order to reach the centre on time.

Realizing that she would not be able to meet the exam centre on time due to a delayed trip, Anwar Jamal’s brother sent a tweet to the railroad authorities asking for assistance.

“Train is delayed by 02:27 hrs. And my sister’s exam will start from 12 O’clock in Varanasi. So please help to reach,” Jamal tweeted. The railway’s authorities promptly responded by asking him to “provide mobile number through Direct Message (DM) Via this link”.

The train driver was immediately instructed by the railway control room to raise the speed of the train and to enter Varanasi station in the next two hours. At the end of the day, the train entered the station at 11 a.m., which allowed Nazia to reach the exam centre on time.

Twitter users praised the Indian Railways for their outstanding service. “I feel proud of my Indian railways for the first time,” tweeted Deep Hans Kashyap. Niyaz Ahmad Ansari tweeted Niyaz Ahmad Ansari tweeted, “What a great help!!! Humanity is still alive. My India is great”
