NotePad++ Creator announces that the macOS version of NotePad++ is FAKE and calls out for trademark violation; Issue now resolved

NotePad++, launched in 2003, is an open-source text and code editor available on Windows. Since its launch, many users have wished for a Mac version of NotePad++, but there has been no announcement made.
A few days back, various reports started surfacing online that the NotePad++ macOS version is finally available, which made people believe that this was the official version. The website for the maxOS version also mentions the name of Don Ho (NotePad++ creator) on the author page, the domain name was also similar, while the iconic chameleon logo was also the same, further making people believe the same.
But this is not the case! Don Ho has officially stated that the macOS version site has nothing to do with NotePad++. It is not authorised, not endorsed, and not affiliated with the project in any way.
He also called out the owner of the macOS site (Andry Letov) for using the NotePad++ trademark name without permission and placing his name and bio on the site. He said,” This is misleading, inappropriate, and frankly disrespectful to both the project and its users. It has already fooled people- including tech media into believing this is an official release.”
Don Ho reached out to the owner of the website (Andry Letov) regarding this issue, and the developer of the macOS port has now rebranded the Mac app, calling it NextPad++ for Mac.
The NextPad++ for Mac website now states that starting with the upcoming version 1.0,6, NotePad++ for Mac will be renamed to NextPad++. NextPad++ is an independent port of NotePad++ for macOS and has the powerful features of NotePad++. The unofficial port will now continue with a new name, logo and branding.
