PS5 Players Will Soon Be Able To Invite Their Friends Through Shareable Link In Multiplayer Session

Sony has announced a new feature on Play Station 5 that will reach gamers in a few months allowing them to invite their friends into a game by sharing a link generated on the PS5 console or the PlayStation App. Gamers will be able to share the link through any messaging or social media platform. The gamer to whom you have sent the link will be able to join in even when they are not your friend on the PlayStation Network. It’s like meeting a friend on the social platform and sending the PS5 session invite in the chat section and thereafter he would be able to play the game right away.

As per the blog post by PlayStation, a small percentage of PS5 games may require an update as it is a new technology. A new widget has also been developed by Sony for  PS5 session invites shared in Discord. It will allow you to see if the session is still active or not. This is not all because the company will soon allow gamers to share their  PlayStation Network profile on any messaging or social app by generating a link from the PlayStation App, the PS5 console, or your web profile on PlayStation.com.
