[Update – Blinkit] PlayStation 5 Slim and PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition launched in India, will be available from 5th April 2024
Update 5th April 2024: CEO & Co-Founder of Blinkit Albinder Dhindsa has posted on platform X confirming that Blinkit will also be delivering the latest PS5 slim models starting today. He further posted “Blinkit customers in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru can now get the all new PlayStation® 5 Slim editions and controllers delivered in 10 minutes!”.

Tuesday, 2nd April saw the announcement of the price of the PlayStation 5 Slim in India. With this, the PS5 Slim is officially launched in India. Along with it, the PS5 Slim Digital Edition has also been launched in India. The global debut of the PlayStation 5 happened in October 2023. The PS5 Slim (CFI-2000 model group) is priced at Rs 54,990 in India. On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is priced at Rs 44,990.
According to reports, the PS5 Slim and PS5 Slim Digital Edition will be live for sale from 5 April 2024 Sony asserted that the products will be available for purchase in all the major retailers of India.
Now, let’s talk about the features and specifications of the PlayStation 5 Slim.
The PS5 Slim comes with a new form factor. This is more flexible and has less volume by 30 % and weight by 18 % and 24 % respectively. The PS5 Slim weighs about 3.2 kg and the PS5 Slim Digital Edition weighs about 2.6 kg.
The Slim console houses four separate cover panels. The top has a glossy finish, while the bottom has a matte finish.
Both the models process on x86-64-AMD Ryzen Zen 2 processor with a variable frequency of up to 3.5 GHz.
The consoles feature an AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine.
It includes up to 16 GB GDDR6 RAM and 1 TB of SSD.
The game disc on the consoles is Ultra HD Blu-ray.
The consoles have a Disc Drive port equipped with a Disc Drive.
The video output options of the consoles include 4K 120 Hz TVs, 8K TVs, and VRR.
They are supported by Tempest 3D AudioTech.
The connectivity ports on the consoles include USB Type-C port (Super-Speed USB 10Gbps), USB Type-C port (Hi-Speed USB), USB Type-A port (Super-Speed USB 10Gbps) x2.
The consoles also have Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
