Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus, introduced the Nothing Phone 1, the company’s first phone, to the world in July. The organisation has begun distributing a new update for the phone’s Nothing OS version 1.1.4 that includes the September 2022 Android security patch.

Significant camera enhancements, power savings for the Always On Display, and bug fixes for Nothing Phone 1 are all included in Nothing OS 1.1.4. The update will also include low-latency support for high-definition audio codec (LHDC) on the phone, as well as the ability to add a watermark to images.

On Sunday, Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, tweeted about the release of Nothing OS 1.1.4 for the Nothing Phone 1. New features are added through the OTA update. Several bug fixes, speed enhancements, and camera upgrades. The 136MB Nothing OS 1.1.4 upgrade is a software update.

With the most recent Nothing OS 1.1.4 update, which lets users apply a watermark to their photographs, as seen on OnePlus, Realme, Xiaomi, and Poco smartphones, the Nothing Phone 1 appears to benefit the most in terms of camera enhancements.

The ultra-wide camera on the phone has been enhanced thanks to the update. The colour calibration and uniformity between the primary and ultra-wide sensors have been improved. Nothing OS 1.1.4’s new motion detection algorithm improves stabilisation while taking pictures of moving objects.

The upgrade includes the Android security updates for September 2022, according to Nothing’s changelog. Enhanced thermal efficiency and an improved face unlock algorithm are provided via a redesigned UI for system upgrades.

The update extends the phone’s battery life by improving the Always On Display function.

The update also addresses a problem that caused incoming calls to be shown as originating from an unknown number and improves network difficulties that certain carriers occasionally experience.

With Nothing OS 1.1.4, the HDFC Bank app’s fingerprint problem has also been resolved.
