iQOO Officially Announces That iQOO 12 Series And iQOO Neo 9 Series Will Support WiFi 7 In China

The smartphone brand iQOO launched two of its latest smartphone series- the iQOO 12 series and iQOO Neo 9 series in the Chinese market last year. iQOO 12 series included iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro smartphones while the company also introduced iQOO 12 Year of the Dragon Special Edition in China at the beginning of this year. The iQOO Neo 9 series also included two models- iQOO Neo 9 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro.

Today the smartphone brand has officially announced on the Weibo platform that the iQOO 12 series and iQOO Neo 9 series will support Wi-Fi 7 in China.

Though it is yet not known whether the global variants of these series will also get WiFi 7 support or not. For that, we do need to wait for the official confirmation from iQOO.

iQOO 12 series: Specifications

iQOO 12 smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and has the brand’s self-developed e-sports chip Q1 onboard. The device is also integrated with the Adreno 750 GPU and runs on the Android 14-based OriginOS 4 custom user interface. For its display, it has a flat AMOLED display panel with a screen size of 6.78″, a resolution of 1260 x 2800 pixels, and a refresh rate of 144Hz. At its rear, a triple camera setup is present, housing a main camera of 50MP, a periscope telephoto camera of 64MP, and an ultrawide camera of 50MP. A front-facing camera of 16MP is also there for selfies. Regarding the battery, the smartphone packs a 5,000 mAh battery, which supports a fast charging feature of up to 120W.

iQOO 12 Pro device is also equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, along with the self-developed e-sports chip Q1. It runs on the Android 14 based OriginOS 4 custom skin and is integrated with the Adreno 750 GPU. The pro model of the series features a curved edge AMOLED display, with a 6.78″ screen size, 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution, and a 144Hz refresh rate. Coming to the cameras, the smartphone sports a triple camera unit with a 50MP main camera, 64MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. A 16MP selfie camera is also present. The smartphone is also backed by a slightly larger 5,100 mAh battery which supports 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging features. The device also supports 10W wireless reverse charging.

iQOO Neo 9 series: Specifications

The iQOO Neo 9 and Neo 9 Pro smartphone features a 6.78-inch wide 1.5K resolution OLED display with 144 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. In the camera department iQOO Neo 9 series sports a 50MP Sony IMX920 primary camera with OIS support. The standard model of the series sports an 8 MP ultra-wide camera it while the Pro model sports a 50 MP JN1 ultra-wide rear camera in its place.

Both smartphones come with a 16 MP selfie camera. The iQOO Neo 9 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor while iQOO Neo 9 Pro is powered by Dimensity 9300 chipset. For enhanced gaming experience the iQOO Neo 1 dedicated chip is also incorporated in smartphones. iQOO Neo 9 and iQOO Neo 9 Pro smartphones are backed by a 5160 mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging. Devices run Android 14 based OriginOS 4 out of the box.
