Many of the leading global smartphone makers including Samsung, Motorola, OPPO, Vivo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Honor, Tecno, and others have already unveiled their foldable smartphone devices and Apple is the only one brand that is yet to come forward with such a model.

Recent reports had pointed out that the brand has submitted a foldable display technology for patent application and now, it is being claimed that the brand’s very own foldable iPhone will be coming in 2026 with some unique cutting-edge technologies.

Apple’s Foldable Devices Coming

Firstly speaking of the foldable technology developed by Apple, it is suggested to be an electronic device technology which will help in minimizing or reducing the creases that occurs in the folding axis. For this, a flexible display has been built into the body. It is understood that a glass cover that is cut is placed so that it will bend easily and doesn’t create any sort of creases. The inner surface is also filled with polymer materials like silicone or acrylate, and this will make the foldable display smooth and will aid in reducing light reflection.

This new foldable technology is said to be used by Apple in its smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices. Probably, it will first be implemented on an iPhone device and as per what has been shared, the company is planning to bring out its foldable smartphone in 2026, two years later. The brand is currently reported to be in the process of finding major partners.

When compared to other brands, Apple is already late in introducing a foldable and is still going to be late by two more years. However, the upcoming model is expected to integrate cutting edge technologies to the device, and as mentioned, it will be thin, light in weight, and will have no crease in the folding area.
