Apple iPhone 16 Series tipped to have periscope telephoto lens with increased 5X zoom capability

Following the launch of the latest iPhone 15 series, rumors and updates are frequently arriving regarding the next iPhone 16 series and the upcoming smartphones of the series.

We had previously come across multiple updates which had pointed to the expected camera specifications of the iPhone 16 series smartphones and now, a new update has arrived which reveals even more.

Here’s more about it.

iPhone 16 Series – Newly Revealed Camera Specs

This update is from Smart Pikachu, a Chinese tipster on the Weibo platform, and it has been mentioned in the tipster’s Weibo post that Apple will be making an imaging flagship that will be capable of offering a better camera shooting experience both for image capturing and video shooting.

The tipster then mentions of the camera module consisting of 48MP main and ultrawide cameras, along with a periscope telephoto lens with increased 5X zoom capability. As a triple camera unit is being spoken about, this could be about the pro models (the expected iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max smartphones).

Furthermore, the tipster notes that the aperture of the entire series has been upgraded, and the most important thing is the upgraded camera lens for the main camera.

Concerning the release time, the iPhone 16 series is said to debut around the same time when Huawei plans to unveil its Mate 70 series devices (in September 2024). It has also been added that calendaring an exact date is difficult as of now, and the supply chain costs have been rising – which suggests of a possible price hike for the next iPhone 16 series devices as well.
