Toyota Unveils the 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV for the ASEAN Market

Toyota has now unveiled the latest 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV for the ASEAN Market. Unlike the Yaris Cross that is currently being sold in Japan and Europe, the 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross is different in terms of its design and dimensions.

2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV

The newly unveiled 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV will be a B-segment SUV that is to be positioned above the Raize SUV and will arrive in petrol and petrol hybrid powertrains. The petrol powertrain will be a 2NR-VE, 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit with two gearshift options – a 5-speed manual and CVT. It will have a peak power of 106 PS and a maximum torque of 138 Nm. As mentioned, the other powertrain option is a petrol hybrid variant and will have a 2NR-VEX 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine which will have a power of 91 PS and a torque of 121 Nm. The electric motor on the hybrid variant will be powered by a lithium-ion battery and will produce a power of 80 PS and a torque of 141 Nm. The petrol engine will only have a CVT gearshift option.

Now coming to its design, the 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV in terms of its dimensions is larger than the Yaris Cross available in Europe and Japan. It has a length of 4,310 mm, a width of 1,770 mm and a height of 1,615 mm. It also has a wheelbase of 2,620 mm and a ground clearance of 260 mm. Considering its wheelbase and ground clearance, it is also expected that the newly unveiled Yaris Cross of 2023 will have off-road capabilities as well. The 19° approach angle and 28° departure angle along with the turning radius of 5.2 meters further confirm the expectation to be true.

The 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV also has a very distinctive look with angular casing for its headlamps and fog-lamps, trapezoidal grille body cladding, rugged bumper and skid plates, squarish wheel arches, sporty alloy wheels along with a two-piece tail lamp at its rear. The SUV will be available both in monotone and dual-tone colour options and, the monotone colour options include Super White, Platinum Pearl White Premium, Silver Metallic, Greenish Gunmetal, Dark Red, Scarlet Premium and Altitude Black Mica colours. All the dual-tone options will have the same Altitude Black Mica roof with colour options of Platinum Pearl White Premium, Silver Metallic and Scarlet Premium.

For its interior, the 2023 Yaris Cross has a layered dashboard along with a driver-focused asymmetrical cockpit. A customizable 7″ digital instrument cluster and a 10.1″ freestanding touchscreen infotainment system are also part of its interior.

Ambient lighting, a powered driver’s seat, panoramic view monitor, an electronic parking brake with auto brake hold, ABS, EBD, VSC, Toyota Safety Sense Suite, six airbags, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, a wireless charger and powered tailgate are some of the other highlights of the newly unveiled Toyota Yaris Cross SUV.

The price points of the 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross SUV have not been revealed yet and are most likely to be revealed at the time of its launch.
