Monkey Pox : India reported second case in Kerala

Reports confirmed a new positive case of Monkey Pox in Kerala this afternoon. The State Health Ministry confirmed that a new positive case of Monkey Pox has been confirmed in the Kannur District of Kerala. 

The victim is a 31-year-old man from Kannur. He is currently undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Medical College. Reports have stated that the present health condition of the patient is satisfactory. Authorities have also taken measures to put close connections of the patient under surveillance. 

This is the second case of Monkey Pox in India. The first case of Monkey Pox in India was reported on Thursday, 14 July.  Even the first case of Monkey Pox was found in a Keralite. The first victim was a 35 year old man who returned from UAE. 

Monkey Pox has infected around 6000 people across 60 countries so far. The Indian Heath Ministry issued guidelines for the management of the disease on 15 July, after the first case was reported.
