Zomato introduces The Shelter Project to make a safe and supporting gig environment

Zomato’s marketing skills are known to everybody but this time it’s not about marketing that has managed to grab the eyeballs, it’s about a vision toward change. Zomato in its blog announced the Shelter Project under which it has started building public infrastructure that is called Rest Points. These Rest Points are supposed to provide a resting place that will be open for the gig workers of different companies.

This is just not a resting point for the delivery partners but a place where they would have access to a 24/7 helpdesk and first aid support, phone-charging point, washroom, and high-speed internet. This will enable Zomato and other companies’ delivery partners to rest for a while in between multiple deliveries in a day. Zomato has already opened two Rest Points in Gurgaon and is planning to create more in the future.

It has been welcomed by not only Zomato’s delivery partners but other companies’ delivery partners too. It would be opened in other areas too where the densest clusters of food delivery businesses. Zomato is working with the aim of creating a safer and more supportive gig environment. If we talk about Zomato it was founded in 2008 by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. Now it’s an Indian multinational restaurant aggregator and food delivery company.
