Toyota Innova Hycross is giving cutthroat competition to rivals with 4,169 units sale in very first month

With the arrival of a new rival Toyota Innova Hycross in its segment competitors have begun taking steps back. Because once this segment was known for the leading sales of MG Hector which lost its position at the top to Tata Brothers Harrier and Safari. Tata Brothers Harrier and Safari could also not hold the segment for long and were overthrown by Mahindra twins XUV700 and Scorpio N. And now comes the new rival of this segment, the Toyota Innova Hycross.

Rushlane has shared MoM, YoY growth, and decline in sales of these cars which gives an insightful picture of what’s going on in this competitive segment.

Mahindra Scorpio holds the top position with a 32.33% market share. There were 6,950 units sold in Feb 2023 of Mahindra Scorpio and with 2,610 units sold a year ago in Feb, it showed 166.28% YoY growth. Its MoM growth has plunged to a 20.25% decline with 8,715 units sold in Jan and just 6,950 units sold in Feb which shows 1,765 units lost in the volume.

XUV700 looks no different in terms of YoY growth of 8.87% with 367 units growth. When it comes to MoM the loss of 1,282 units is well mentioned in the charts that brought down the market share of XUV700 from 29.61% in Jan to 20.97% in Feb. The fall in MoM numbers reflects the demand that these models have in the market. Mahindra is facing production challenges to fulfill the market demand.

With the sale of 4,169 units of Innova Hycross in the very first month it is giving cutthroat competition to rivals. It has a market share of 19.40% and its sale is likely to remain either constant or go up. TATA has managed to sell 3,306 units this month which is 1,232 units less than what was sold in last year’s February which shows a 27.15% YoY decline. It shows 29.69% of MoM growth with 117 units more sales than the previous month.

At the fifth position, we have got Hector + Hector Plus by MG which has shown positive growth in MoM and YoY sales. Because MG saw 21.69% YoY growth and 4.79% MoM growth.
