Based on Counterpoint Research, e-commerce platforms like Flipkart and Amazon India are predicted to account for about 61% of total sales, down from 66% last year. Although unit sales may decrease by 9%, the average selling price (ASP) of smartphones during the holiday season will increase 12% to its highest level ever at $242. (on-year). The survey said that India’s smartphone market is entering this holiday season with the greatest channel inventory of almost 10 weeks. This year, Amazon’s Great India Festival and Flipkart’s Big Billion Days will kick off the sales on September 23. With the Diwali sale, the holiday shopping season will come to an end.

The retail ASP (average selling price), like the total value, would be the highest ever and might see an increase of 12–15% YoY, according to Research Director Tarun Pathak.
