China will be no longer Apple’s biggest manufacturer

China is the biggest spot of manufacturing for Apple where almost 80% percent of accessories are manufactured. Zhengzhou, also known as Apple city, saw a major protest breakdown recently because of outrage caused by hard and false promises made to the workers. China’s zero covid policy has also shaken the supply chain in China.

These are some of the reasons that are pushing Apple to look for alternate options. According to various reports and discussions, Apple is in talks with suppliers to plan more actively for assembling Apple products elsewhere in Asia, particularly India and Vietnam. This move will reduce their dependence on Foxconn and Taiwanese assemblers.

Apple city protest has propelled its shift that was a mere plan earlier. So in the coming weeks, we can see the biggest Apple manufacturing hub shifting to other places in Asia bit by bit. Asia is the best location for tech giants like Apple because of lower labor costs and lenient labor laws that let them control their workers as per their needs.
