Copilot Vision now available to all Microsoft Edge users for free

Last year, Microsoft officially introduced Copilot Vision for the web. This is a new way to have AI work with you as you navigate the web in Microsoft Edge. Users can share the web content they are viewing with Copilot and have their queries related to that content answered by speaking.

Copilot Vision was earlier available to Copilot Pro subscribers, but now it is available to all Microsoft Edge users for free.

Copilot Vision literally sees what’s on your screen. When Copilot Vision is activated, it uses voice to answer questions about the page you are reading and can suggest what to do next. User inputs, images, and page content are not logged or stored.

It may highlight portions of the screen to help you find relevant information, but it does not actually click links or do anything on your behalf. For example, this feature could help users in planning a fun day at a museum, holiday shopping, decoding job descriptions, customized interview prep, or learning how to play a new game. Users can end the voice session at any time by either closing the browser window or manually stopping the screen sharing.

For now, Copilot Vision only interacts with a selected set of websites- Wikipedia, Amazon, Food&Wine, Tripadvisor, Target, OpenTable, Williams Sonoma, Wayfair, and eoguessr. It will not function on websites with paywalls or sensitive content. Users must sign in to Copilot to access Vision, while the feature won’t work if you sign in with a work or school account. The more advanced Copilot Vision features are still restricted to those with a Copilot Pro subscription

How to use Copilot Vision in Edge?

  • Press the Copilot icon in the upper right corner of Edge to open Copilot in the Edge sidebar
