Google Now Supports Vehicle Listing Markup and Search Console Rich Result Report

Google’s vehicle listings are a perfect option for car dealers to showcase their for-sale inventory to others, and also to connect with potential clients. Now, in order to make things much more simpler and accessible to all, two new features – Vehicle Listing Markup and Search Console Rich Result Report, have been introduced for users.

Here’s more about it.

More Structured Vehicle Listing Data for Car Dealerships

With the help of vehicle listing markup, car dealers of all sizes, whether big or small, can become eligible to list their for-sale inventory on Google. Those of you who are comfortable and prefer creating and maintaining feed files can still move forward using the existing feed method, which is also a good option for car dealers. However, Google recommends the use of the new markup feature for those who haven’t or are still yet to sign up for vehicle listings.

Using the markup feature, a much more simple setup can be experienced. Users can also implement vehicle listing markup on the car details pages and add basic information about the cars, as well as provide details regarding their availability.

As mentioned, along with the Vehicle Listing Markup, new Search Console reports and tools have also been introduced, which will allow dealers to monitor and fix structured data.

The Rich Result Report in Search Console will be able to display valid and invalid items in a page with structured data, and this will let users detect and find markup issues. Users will also be able to test their structured data via the Rich Results Test. Simply submit the URL of the page, or the code snippet, and without having to wait for the Rich Results Reports to become updated, they can confirm whether their markup is valid or not themselves.

Also, Google’s Vehicle Listings, as of now, is only available in the US and the US territories, and so are the two newly introduced features.
