Google Labs New Experimental Feature – Portraits
The Portraits feature that has now been introduced by Google Labs as mentioned allows users to interact with AI coaches of trusted experts, and it has been built in partnership with the experts themselves. Kim Scott’s Portrait has debuted as the first one, and users will be able to access guidance from the best selling author (of Radical Candor) herself through the newly-introduced feature.
Google Labs’ Portraits makes use of Gemini’s understanding and reasoning capabilities while responding to queries and questions, but through an illustrated avatar of the trusted expert featuring their content and in their voice. Thus, these characteristics make Portraits a unique feature as it is directly linked to a real-world personality – like Kim Scott. Moreover, as the foundation is based off the ideas and principles of the actual person, the conversations made are solely centered on a particular field of expertise (of the expert coach).
As of now, the Portraits feature is available in the United States on labs.google/portraits for users aged 18 years and above. Also, from the brand’s side, extensive testing has already been done, however since this is an early experiment, user feedback is invited and it is necessary to further identify and address any possible problematic scenarios.
