Apple reportedly launching new iCloud-Based ‘Confetti’ service for event invites this week

Apple is expected to introduce a new iCloud-based service called ‘Confetti’ for managing event invitations, according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The service, which could be rolled out as early as this week, aims to provide users with a seamless way to send invites for parties, meetings, and functions.

Gurman revealed the details in his latest Power On newsletter, stating that Confetti will be linked to the recent iOS 18.3 update, which introduced key changes to Apple’s notification summaries powered by Apple Intelligence. However, it remains unclear whether Confetti will be launched as a standalone app or integrated as a mini app within existing Apple services like Messages or Calendar.

This development follows previous reports that Apple was working on an ‘Invites’ app designed to help users organise meetings and share event details. Confetti is expected to build on this concept by providing a list of invitees and tracking RSVPs, giving users better visibility over event attendance.

References to Confetti were reportedly discovered in the iOS 18.3 beta code, indicating that Apple plans to differentiate it from the existing Calendar app by offering deeper iCloud integration. Additionally, the service may have a web version on iCloud.com and could be linked to GroupKit, an Apple framework that facilitates communication and sharing between users and apps.

Apple has not officially announced Confetti yet, but with its expected internal rollout this week, an official reveal could be on the horizon.
