The smartphone series will launch globally on 17th March at 20:00 GMT+8. The launch event is online and will be streamed on mi.com. The series includes two models- POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max. In India, the Flipkart microsite for the POCO X8 Pro series reveals that the India launch will also happen on the same day.

The POCO X8 Pro model is revealed in the white colour option. The rear panel features a pill-shaped camera module that houses two camera sensors, and an LED flash is next to the camera module. The camera sensor protrusion can be seen. The power and volume buttons are on the right side. Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro Max is revealed in Black colour. It also features a pill-shaped camera module housing two camera sensors, and a dual LED flash is present next to the camera module. The camera module is slightly lifted up from the surface.
Previously, the company has officially teased that the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra (POCO X8 Pro) and MediaTek Dimensity 9500s (POCO X8 Pro Max) chipsets will power the POCO X8 Pro series. Reportedly, the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X8 Pro Max devices will be the rebrand versions of Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max, respectively.
Although the Redmi Turbo 5 came with the Dimensity 8500, the Poco X8 Pro will feature an Ultra badge added to the chipset name. This would mean that there might be some software-level optimisation, which we can expect.
There is also a POCO X8 Pro Iron Man Edition that is rumoured to make its debut in the global market, and the company may introduce this device during the POCO X8 Pro series launch event itself.
Last month, a leaked image of the POCO X8 Pro retail box suggested that the device would arrive with a massive 6500 mAh battery paired with 100W HyperCharge technology, a 6.59″ 1.5K AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a 50MP main camera equipped with OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation).
POCO is expected to tease some more details of the upcoming POCO X8 Pro series smartphones in the next few days. Stay tuned for all the updates.
