Huawei Mate 70 Air with 7″ FHD+ OLED Display and 6,500mAh Battery Launched in China
Everyone is trying to win the race to launch a super-thin smartphone. Earlier, Motorola launched the X70 Air, also known as the Motorola Edge 70, and now Huawei has introduced the Huawei Mate70 Air in its home country, China.

Huawei Mate 70 Air Specs and Features
It features a 7″ (actual size 6.96″)OLED screen with 1.07 billion colours, P3 wide colour gamut, FHD+ 2760 × 1320 resolution, 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and up to 300Hz touch sampling rate, offering excellent visuals with smooth touch response.
The device runs HarmonyOS 5.1 and is powered by the Kirin 9020 processor series, where the 16GB RAM model uses the Kirin 9020A chip and the 12GB RAM model uses the Kirin 9020B version. It is available in a 12GB RAM configuration with 256GB or 512GB internal storage.
The Mate70 Air focuses strongly on imaging, equipped with a 50MP 1/1.3″ ultra-sensitive main camera with OIS, a 12MP RYYB telephoto lens with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide macro lens, and an additional 1.5 million multi-spectral red maple colour sensor to enhance colour accuracy. It supports 3x optical and up to 30x digital zoom, ultra-wide shooting, macro shooting, high-resolution mode, night mode, HDR Vivid video, and 4K recording. The front camera is a 10.7MP ultra-wide shooter that also supports 4K.

Despite being extremely thin at 6.6mm, the Mate70 Air comes with a large 6500mAh battery and supports up to 66W Huawei SuperCharge, along with 5W wired reverse charging, though it does not support wireless charging.
The phone is IP68 and IP69 rated for dust and water resistance, including durability against high-temperature, high-pressure sprays.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC and L2HC high-definition audio, NFC with payment support, USB Type-C digital audio, and BeiDou satellite messaging support in China. For positioning, it offers GPS dual-frequency, GLONASS, BeiDou quad-frequency, Galileo tri-frequency, QZSS dual-frequency, and NavIC. Audio experiences are boosted with Huawei Histen stereo sound effects. Overall, the Huawei Mate70 Air focuses on ultra-thin premium design with advanced display, large battery capacity in a slim frame, colour-accurate multi-camera system, and new-generation Kirin performance, making it a standout flagship option in the ultra-slim category.
Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Mate70 Air comes in three colour options – Gold and Silver Brocade, Feather White, and Obsidian Black. In China, the pricing starts at Chinese Yuan 4199 for the 12GB + 256GB variant powered by the Kirin 9020B chipset, while the 12GB + 512GB model with the same Kirin 9020B is priced at Chinese Yuan 4699. The 16GB + 256GB version featuring the Kirin 9020A chip is priced at Chinese Yuan 4699, and the top-end 16GB + 512GB variant is available at Chinese Yuan 5199. Pre-orders for the Mate70 Air in China begin on 6 November 2025 at 10:08, and official open sales start on 11 November 2025 at 10:08 across Huawei Mall, authorised e-commerce partners, Huawei experience stores, and authorised retail channels.
